BATON ROUGE was built at Dutch yacht builder Icon Yachts under project name Florida. The 62.50 meters (205.05 ft) displacement motor yacht is the second of three superyachts in the ICON 62m range.
BATON ROUGE has a steel hull with an 11.40 meter beam and a draft of 3.50 meters. She was launched in May 2010.
She is powered by 2 MTU diesel engines. Which bring her a top speed of 16 knots. Her cruise speed is 12 knots. The yacht has a range of more than 5,000nm.
ICON Yachts is a relatively new name amongst luxury yacht builders.
The company is based in Holland and offers customized superyachts built on a pre-determined, technically optimized and operational platform giving almost endless customizable possibilities.
Unfortunately, Icon Yachts went bankrupt in early 2014, after severe losses in 2012 and 2013.
Who Owns Icon Yachts?
The company was purchased for EUR 415.000 by the Russian billionaire Alexander Mazanov. He also bought the yacht Icon.
Mazanov was a shareholder at the – now-bankrupt – Transport Bank in Moscow.
The yacht’s owner is Martin Bouygues. Martin’s wife Melissa Bouygues was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Which may explain the yacht’s name...
