The yacht Tango was built at the famous Feadship Van Lent shipyard. She was delivered to her owner in 2011.
The Tango boat is designed by Eidsgaard Design. She has unique styling with a white hull and a metallic gray superstructure.
4 MTU (16V4000 M70) 1,730 hp diesel engines give her a top speed of 22 knots. Her cruising speed is 10 knots. We estimate her range at more than 5,000nm.
Motor yacht Tango was the winner of the 2012 World Superyacht Awards.
Tango Boat Interior
Tango has an amazing interior by Harrison Eidsgaard. Tango can accommodate 14 guests in 7 cabins and has a crew of 22. Unfortunately, no interior photos have been released.
The yacht’s owner is Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg.
Seized in Mallorca
On April 4, 2022, Spanish authorities seized the yacht – on the request of the United States – in Palma De Mallorca.
The yacht was seized pursuant to a request from the U.S. Department of Justice for assistance following the issuance of a seizure warrant, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Ir alleged that MY Tango was subject to forfeiture based on violation of U.S. bank fraud, money laundering, and sanction statutes.
According to documents filed in this case, the U.S. investigation alleges that Vekselberg bought the Tango in 2011 and has owned it continuously since that time. It further alleges that Vekselberg used shell companies to obfuscate his interest in the Tango to avoid bank oversight into U.S. dollar transactions related thereto.
