The Seven Seas yacht is a 109-meter luxury motor yacht built by the renowned Dutch yacht builder Oceanco. Delivered in 2023, she is one of the most impressive custom yachts in the Oceanco fleet and is widely linked to legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

Seven Seas was developed as Oceanco project Y720 and is understood to be the successor to Spielberg’s previous 86-meter Oceanco yacht of the same name, which was later sold and renamed Man of Steel.

A legal dispute connected to the yacht Seven Seas emerged between yacht broker Merle Wood & Associates and Oceanco. The dispute concerned an alleged oral commission agreement that Merle Wood claimed had been made during the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show.
According to court documents, Merle Wood & Associates claimed it was entitled to a commission related to the sale of the new Seven Seas. Oceanco denied that such an agreement existed.
The District Court of Rotterdam ruled that Merle Wood & Associates could request a preliminary witness hearing to gather evidence and clarify its position. This did not mean the broker’s claim had been proven; it only allowed evidence gathering to proceed.
Important note: Steven Spielberg was not a party to this legal conflict. The dispute was between Merle Wood & Associates and Oceanco.
Seven Seas was launched in 2022 under the project name Y720. After further work, sea trials and owner-requested finishing, Oceanco officially announced her delivery in July 2023.
