This is the 3th Northern Star built at Lurssen for John Risley. The first was a 63 meter built in 2005. She second was a 76 meter, built in 2009. Before that he used to own a 37 meter motor sailor, built at Palmer Johnson. He was also owner of the Huisman built sailing yacht Meteor.
Almost no information has been released yet, but we think she is powered by Caterpillar engines. She will have a top speed of more than 20 knots. Her range will be around 6,000nm. No designer’s name has been released, but we think she is an Espen Oeino project.
No interior designer has been disclosed. But the previous Northern Star had an interior by Pauline Nunns Associates Ltd. We estimate that the yacht will accommodate more than 20 guests and more than 40 crew.
Lurssen Huntress (ex Northern Star)
The previous Northern Star was delivered by Lurssen in 2009 and built to a design of Espen Oeino. She was sold in 2017 to Dwight Schar, who named her Bella Vita. In 2020 Schar swapped his yacht with George Argyros‘ Huntress. The 2010 Huntress became Bella Vitta, and Bella Vita became Huntress.
Northern Star is powered by 2 Caterpillar engines. Which bring her a top speed of 18 knots. Her cruise speed is 15 knots. Her range is more than 6,000nm.
She can accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 22. She has an interior designed by Pauline Nunns.
Schar is the founder of NVR, one of the largest homebuilders in the United States. Dwight Schar’s net worth is US$ 1 billion.
Risley also owned the 2005 Lurssen Northern Star, now named Polar Star.
