He is the Vice-President of Equatorial Guinea. He is the son of Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of Equatorial Guinea. He was born in June 1968. For a few years he was Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and was promoted to First Vice-President in June 2016.

According to an official Equatorial Guinea statement, both yachts Ebony Shine and Ice are owned by the Government of Equatorial Guinea.
