We were informed that a Sheikh, member of the Ruling Family of Abu Dhabi, is the owner of the yacht Maryah.
Maryah started as a Russian research vessel, built in Poland in the 1990’s. She was acquired by an Arab Sheikh and sent to Greece for a 5 year rebuild project at Elefsis Shipyards. She was delivered in 2014. Maryah has length of 125 meters (410 ft) which makes her one of the largest yachts in the world.
Maryah has an amazing interior, designed by H2 Yacht Design. Maryah accommodates an amazing number of 54 guests. We estimate she has a crew of 60.
The Al Nahyan Family is one of the six ruling families of the United Arab Emirates, based in Abu Dhabi. It’s most known member is Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is the President of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Abu Dhabi. We think (but are not sure..) that the yacht Maryah is actually owned by sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He is a brother of Sheikh Khalifa. Al Maryah is an island north east of Abu Dhabi, named for for the Arabian oryx ("al maryah" in Arabic). It is currently being developed by Mubadala (the state owned development company) into a new city center.
