Ilona was built in 2009 at Amels. The yacht is designed by REDMAN WHITELEY DIXON, who is also responsible for her interior. Ilona can accommodate 16 guests and a crew of 28. She is powered by two Caterpillar engines which bring her a top speed in of 19 knots. In 2016 she was sent back to Amels for a refit: the (enclosed) helicopter hangar was turned in to a swimming pool and a helipad was added. In 2018 she was sent for another refit, this time at Abeking & Rasmussen. She was lengthened to 82 meters, a new forward helicopter landing deck was added and her stern was changed into an open swim platform. The yacht is named after Frank’s mother Ilona Lowy.
