Meet the extraordinary yacht Alamshar, a marvel of engineering built by Devonport Yachts and equipped with six gas turbines to achieve an ambitious top speed of 65 knots. Although test runs resulted in a top speed of only 45 knots, this motor yacht still stands as a testament to innovation and performance. The yacht’s name is inspired by a successful Irish Thoroughbred racehorse bred at her owner’s Aiglemont Estate in Gouvieux, north of Paris, France.
After a 13-year-long engineering and construction journey, the luxury yacht was delivered to her owner in 2014. In the winters of 2018 and 2019, Alamshar was sent to the renowned Lurssen yacht in Germany for refit and further updates.
The yacht boasts an exterior design by the renowned Italian design house Pininfarina and an opulent interior crafted by RWD.
Alamshar offers lavish accommodations for up to 10 guests and is manned by a crew of 10, ensuring an exceptional level of service and comfort on board.
The proud owner of the yacht is the Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili Muslims and the 49th hereditary Imam of the Ismaili community. Holding his position since 1957, the Aga Khan is a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad and is revered by his followers as a direct link to God.
