The Wheaton Group, based in Edmonton, is considered the largest single group of General Motors dealerships in Canada. The Wheaton Automotive Group sells new and used GMC, Cadillac, Buick, Chevrolet, Honda, Toyota, Kia and Mercedes vehicles. Wheaton GM is the largest General Motors merchandiser in Canada, with 19 western Canadian dealers.
Family patriarch Don Wheaton opened the Whyte Avenue location of Don Wheaton Chev Olds 50 years ago. The family business expanded over the years to include several automotive dealerships, aviation services, insurance, and Canada's first privately held chartered bank. He was an active philanthropist. In 2003, Mr. Wheaton donated $2 million to the YMCA for a $26-million downtown facility, called the Don Wheaton Family YMCA. Don Wheaton passed away in 2012 at the age of 88.

The company starter with passengers flights and expanded into a Cessna sales and service, corporate jets and went into aircraft leasing business. The company is now a provider of specialized air cargo services.

After Eight was built for Don Wheaton in 2007. After Eight is a 46.20m motor yacht, custom built by Northern Marine Co. After Eight was the first yacht in the 151 Tri-Deck series. The yacht is designed by Jonathan Quinn Barnett.
