Who is Iksander Makhmudov?
He is the owner of Ural Mining and Metals or Uralskaya Gorno-Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya (UGMK) Holding. He was born in December 1963. He is married to Margarita Makhmudova. They have one child (Jakhongir Makhmudov.)
UGMK is Russia’s second-largest copper producer and the fourth largest non-ferrous metallurgical company in Russia.
Makhmudov also owns Rodionov Publishing House, publisher of the Russian Newsweek.

Makhmudov is shareholder in the Russian railway operator LLC Transoil. And he is shareholder in CJSC Transmashholding (TMH), Russia’s largest producer of rolling stock for railways and subways.

Mr. Makhmudov is an active philanthropist, donating to orphanages, medical clinics and several other charitable causes.
