Eyal Ofer is a Monaco-based billionaire, active in shipping and real estate. He was born in June 1950. His father Sammy Ofer was Israel’s richest man.
Eyal Ofer is a global business leader and philanthropist who leads the multi-generational family group, Ofer Global. He also sits on the board of Royal Caribbean Group and the advisory board of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum.
In 2021 was ranked number 7 in Lloyd’s List 100 People in Shipping.
As Chairman of Ofer Global, Eyal oversees the group’s private portfolio of international businesses in shipping, real estate, energy, technology, banking, and investments, with over 30,000 employees in 15 locations across the globe.
These include its shipping division, Zodiac Group, which he established in the 1970s alongside his father, the late Sammy Ofer KBE, and built into one of the world’s largest privately held shipping fleets, operating today a diversified fleet of over 180 ocean-going vessels worldwide, before leading the group’s diversification into real estate and its other sectors.
In addition to Zodiac, Ofer Global comprises Global Holdings Group, a property holding conglomerate with over 10 million square feet of real estate, specializing in large-scale office buildings, hotels and luxury residential developments. Properties include the iconic 15 Central Park West in New York and landmark commercial buildings such as 120 Park Avenue and Sea Containers in London. The company owns more than 100 properties and 2,500 hotel rooms. The company owns hotels in New York and London.
The group’s O.G. Energy division has interests including renewable energy projects focused on wind, solar and forestry, and is a global leader in the provision of FSO and FPSO units through Omni Offshore Terminals. O.G. Oil & Gas is active in oil & gas exploration and production.
In 2017 Eyal launched O.G. Tech, a single LP Venture Capital fund focused on investing in early-growth-stage technology startups, demonstrating his long-standing support for tech entrepreneurs.

His net worth is estimated at $16 billion. He owns a large and valuable collection of art. Some of which was collected by his father Sammy Ofer. He reportedly owns a famous Picasso painting.
The Eyal family is active in philanthropy through their Eyal and Marilyn Foundation. The foundation supports arts and education. They donated US$ 5 million to renovate the Tel Aviv Museum’s Pavilion for Contemporary Art.
In 2013 Ofer donated US$ 10 million to support expansion to the Tate Modern public art institution. He is personally passionate about art and a major collector of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary works.
