Flying Fox is the world’s 14th largest yacht. She is available for charter. Some call her ‘Jeff Bezos Yacht’, although Amazon released a statement denying his involvement.
The yacht was recently delivered by Lurssen Yachts. She was known as project SHU. Her named was changed into Flying Fox on AIS data. Her first destination was Norway. Since then she spent some time in the Med, visiting Cannes, Capri and Sardinia. In the winter of 2019/2020 she spent time in the Maldives and did some charters. In June 2020 she arrived back in the Med.
Flying Fox is one of the largest yachts in the world. Based on her length she is the world’s 14th largest yacht. A place shared with the famous yacht Savarona. Which is exact the same length.
She is however a much larger yacht than Savarona. As she has an enormous volume. She has a length of 136 meter (446ft) and a beam of 20.5 meter (67ft). Her draught is 5 meter.
The yacht is designed by Espen Øino. She has a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. She is powered by 2 MTU engines. AIS data show a top speed of 15 knots and a cruise speed of 10 knots. But we think she is capable of higher speeds.
Mark Berryman is responsible for her interior. We estimate that she will accommodate 22 guests and a crew of 54. There are no interior photos available, although we do have some on deck photos. And we do have interior photos of the previous Flying Fox boat. Which is also designed by Mark Berryman. We do know she has a two-
The yacht’s features include a very large pool aft on the main deck. And a cinema, an elevator and two helipads. She can accommodate the largest helicopters on the market.
She has a large beach area and several swim platforms. The yacht has a two-
We estimate the price of the superyacht at around US$ 700 million. This value is based on her volume and a market value per ton for German high quality ship yards. She replaces a 73 meter Nobiskrug yacht. She was sold and is now named Dytan.
The Flying Fox boat is available for charter through Imperial Yachts. The yacht is not listed for sale.
She is managed by Imperial Yachts. Imperial Yachts is a leading authority on superyacht charter, sales, new construction and yacht management.
The yacht carries an Airbus H155 helicopter. With registration VP-
Media in Italy and Turkey claim that US billionaire Jeff Bezos is the owner of the yacht. But we don’t think Flying Fox is Jeff Bezos Yacht. Bezos is Chairman, CEO, and President of Amazon. His net worth is US$ 165 billion. So he can afford such yacht. Amazon.com released a statement denying his involvement.

The yacht was built at Nobiskrug, as project 783. Both her exterior and interior are designed by Reymond Langton Design.
Dytan can accommodate 12 guests and has a crew of 23. Her features include a jacuzzi, a gym, a cinema, an elevator and a security cabin.
The yacht had a support vessel, named 6711. They were often spotted together.
The support vessel has a length of 67 meter (220 ft) and carries all toys, transport and up to 20 crew. 6711 carried diving equipment, including a decompression chamber.
In 2017 the yacht was put for sale. She was marketed under her original hull number “Project 783”.
She was sold and is now named Dytan.
We do not know who owns the yacht.
