The yacht was recently delivered by Lurssen Yachts. She was known as project SHU. Her named was changed into Flying Fox on AIS data. Her first destination is Norway.
Flying Fox is one of the largest yachts in the world. Based on her length she is the world’s 14th largest yacht. A place shared with the famous yacht Savarona. Which is exact the same length.
She is however a much larger yacht than Savarona. As she has an enormous volume. She has a length of 136 meter (446ft) and a beam of 20.5 meter (67ft).
The yacht is designed by Espen Øino. She has a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. She is powered by 2 MTU engines. AIS data show a top speed of 15 knots and a cruise speed of 10 knots. But we think she is capable of higher speeds.
Mark Berryman is responsible for her interior. We estimate that she will accommodate at least 24 guests and a crew of 40. There are no interior photos available.
The yacht’s features include a very large pool aft on the main deck. And a cinema, an elevator and two helipads. She can accommodate the largest helicopters on the market.
She will probably have a beach area, a spa and several swim platforms.
We estimate the price of the yacht at (more than) US$ 300 million. She replaces a 73 meter Nobiskrug yacht. She was sold and is now named Dytan.
The Flying Fox yacht will not be able for charter. The yacht is not listed for sale.
She is managed by Imperial Yachts. Imperial Yachts is a leading authority on superyacht charter, sales, new construction and yacht management.
The yacht carries an Airbus H155 helicopter. With registration VP-
