The yacht Yas is one of the largest superyachts in the world. Yas has a length of 141 m (463 ft). And was delivered to her owner in 2013. She is built at Abu Dhabi MAR to a design of Pierrejean Design Studio.
Dutch Navy Frigate
The Yas yacht was originally a Dutch navy frigate, known as the HNLMS Piet Hein. Abu Dhabi Mar replaced the original steel superstructure of the Piet Hein with a new superstructure of composite materials.
Because of the size of the structure, the superstructure shell and interior decks, deck support beams, and bulkheads were built in sections. In order to facilitate shipping and assembly.
