He is the founder of Hubbard Aviation Technologies. Which produces a sound muffler for Gulfstream airplanes. Stanley has owned several Gulfstream airplanes. And he was an early investor in hush kit technology. This is a sound-reducing technology.
He outfitted his Gulfstream GII-SP with a prototype hush kit. Which was designed by Stage III Technologies. And he was so impressed with the product that he bought the intellectual property. He built a company to manufacture and market it.

His net worth is estimated at $2 billion. Hubbard is an active philanthropist, supporting students and faculty at the University of Minnesota.
After a gift of US$ 10 million in 2000 to the University of Minnesota. The university formed the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
