The Eurasian Drilling Company (EDC) is an onshore and offshore drilling and well services contractor. EDC owns and operates one of the largest fleets of land drilling and workover units in the world.
EDC is the largest Russian drilling company by meters drilled. The company realizes revenues of US$ 3 billion and has 22,000 employees.
Dzhaparidze has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Company since August 2007 and was one of the Company’s founders in 2002. He owns 30% of the shares. In 2015 Schlumberger acquired a minority stake for US$ 1.7 billion.
He was also the founder of Petroalliance, a Russian oilfield services company, which he sold to Schlumberger for US$ 650 million.
Dzhaparidze Has Owned Many Yachts
He has owned several yachts, all named after a Beatles song. The first was the Heesen 37 meter Let it Be, built in 2005. Then another Heesen: a 47 meter, also named Let it Be. He currently still owns the Amels 212 Imagine, which is now for sale. And in 2016 his yacht Here Comes the Sun was delivered. He sold Here Comes the Sun to Graeme Hart. Dzhaparidze now owns the yacht COME TOGETHER.
