Hans Thomas Gross is an Austrian entrepreneur, residing in Switzerland, and founder of Runningball AG. He was born in January 1976 in Austria.
Runningball AG provides real-time sports data to the online sports betting industry. The company supplies computer-aided match analyses, with data provided by more than 1,100 freelance scouts.
The scouts provide real-time data with handheld devices, covering more than 50,000 sporting events of which 30,000 football matches per year.
RunningBall has developed a software package to collect, review, enhance, store and distribute large volumes of data pertaining to football matches and other sports competitions.
In 2012 Runningball AG was acquired by the Perform Group.
The Perform Group paid $167 million for Runningball: EUR 20 million (or US$ 27 million) in cash, EUR 50 million (US$ 70 million) in 13,500,000 Perform Group shares, and another EUR 50 million (US$ 70 million) cash, paid in March 2013, based on 2012 EBITDA.
Gross sold all his 13.5 million shares in April 2013 at an average share price of US$ 7.20, netting him near $100 million.
Based on the transactions, his net worth is estimated at US$ 200 million. In September 2013 Gross purchased his new yacht. He sold her in 2017.
Gross is the owner of a Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita, worth US$ 2,5 million.
