BREAKTHROUGH Arrives in Antibes for Her First Mediterranean Season
The groundbreaking hydrogen-powered superyacht BREAKTHROUGH has officially arrived in the Mediterranean, marking her first summer cruise since delivery. The 119-meter Feadship is currently berthed at the International Yacht Club d’Antibes (IYCA) — a private and highly secure marina with no public access, favored by the world’s most discreet yacht owners.
Built for Bill Gates and delivered in 2025, BREAKTHROUGH is widely regarded as the most advanced sustainable superyacht ever constructed. Originally known as Project 821, the vessel is powered by liquid hydrogen fuel cells and designed to operate with near-zero emissions.
Although reports previously suggested that BREAKTHROUGH had been sold to Canadian billionaire Patrick Dovigi, multiple sources now confirm that the transaction did not go through. As a result, the yacht remains owned by Gates and is still listed for sale, with an estimated price of around $675 million.
Her arrival in Antibes signals the start of her first Mediterranean season — and perhaps renewed interest from potential buyers drawn to her unmatched blend of innovation, engineering, and environmental responsibility.
