The first Madsummer, was also the largest: 78.5 meter (258 ft) Lurssen designed by Espen Oeino.
The Lurssen could accommodate 18 guests and a crew of 25. The yacht was delivered in 2009. Unfortunately soon after delivery of the yacht, the Soffer family ran into a financial difficult period.
In 2010 they swapped ownership of yachts with Mexican billionaire Emilio Fernando Azcárraga Jean (who owned a 44 meter Feadship named TV). The US$ 100 million 78 meter Madsummer became TV, while the 44 meter Feadship (valued at US$ 35 million) became Madsummer.
The 44 meter yacht can accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 10. In 2014 the Feadship Madsummer was sold again.
