Westport Yachts is a custom yacht builder founded in 1964. Westport is considered to be the Number 1 Yacht Builder In North America.
The company is specialized in building Composite Motoryachts. It has built more than 160 yachts.
Westport maintains a large in-house design and development staff of naval architects, marine engineers and design specialists.
Westport Yachts applies the most advanced composite technologies and materials – like infusion, resin impregnation and advanced coring materials – to create vessels that are both light in weight and superior in strength.
For several years, Westport was owned by J. Orin Edson. Westport built his yacht EVVIVA.
In 2014 Edson sold the company to Gary Chouest, owner of the yacht My Girl.
The company had and still has a big success with its semi-custom 112 series. More than 65 hulls have been built of this 34-meter / 112-ft superyacht.
In 2022 the latest Westport 112 Well Played was delivered.
Also, the Westport 130 series is successful with more than 40 hulls built. The 130-series include yacht as SeaQuest, Steve Bisciotti’s Winning Drive, and Tsalta.
And finally, Westport has built 14 hulls in the 50-meter (164-ft) Westport 164 series. Yachts include Evviva, Hospitality, Tilman Fertitta’s Boardwalk, and Betsy DeVos‘ superyacht Legacy.
