Ngoni was built by Royal Huisman in the Netherlands. It was delivered in 2017. Ngoni is known as The Beast. The order was to “Build me a beast. Don’t build me a wolf in sheep’s clothing. This has to be an edgy and innovative weapon, fast and furious.”

She is designed by Dubois Naval Architects. . She has a lifting keel and a 71 meter all carbon mast. She can reach a maximum speed of 17.5 knots.

Her interior is designed by Rick Baker. The Ngoni yacht can accommodate 8 guests. As one stateroom is designed as a gym with a steam room

The yacht’s owner is Tony Buckingham.
Regatta Sailing
Buckingham has owned other sailing yachts. And he actively participates in regattas. He has won many trophies at prestigious regattas. Including Cowes Week. And he notably won the prestigious Commodores’ Cup in 2000.
What Does the Name Ngoni mean?
He named all his yachts Ngoni. After the Ngoni people. An ethnic group living in the Southern African countries of Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia.
