The yacht Meserret iii was built by Peene Werft in 1992. She is designed by Kusch Yachts.
The yacht was ordered by Brigadier Sir Timothy Landon as a replacement for his yacht Katalina. He later decided to keep his Katalina and sold the unfinished project to Sir Donald Gosling.
Gosling named the yacht after the cruiser HMS Leander, the first Royal Navy ship in which he served. The yacht has been chartered by members of the British Royal Family.
Gosling sold the yacht in 2016, to an undisclosed buyer. We were told the buyer was a member of the Barclay family. The yacht was sold again in 2020.
Top Gear / Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson toured the yacht with a TV crew.
