Louis Ridder van Rappard is the co-founder and managing partner of CVC Capital Partners. He was born on September 27, 1960. He is married to Françoise van Rappard.
Van Rappard is a Dutch, partly noble family, originating from Westphalia. The family initially belonged to the wealthy bourgeoisie and only later obtained a title of nobility. Several nobility branches exist in the United States and in Germany. Already at the end of the 18th century, this branch had obtained a title from the King of Prussia. Members of the Dutch branch were incorporated or elevated to the Dutch nobility between 1815 and 1984; some branches obtained the title of knight (Ridder) for the male members.
CVC Capital Partners is a private equity and investment firm that manages assets of more than $75 billion. The company has offices in Luxembourg and London.
