Chang has been in the shipbuilding industry since 1967, founded CIMC Raffles Offshore (Singapore) Ltd. in 1994.
In 2008 China International Marine Containers (CIMC) offered USD 560 million for a 30 percent stake. But later this deal was canceled, buying only 10% for a small part of the original price.
