The Alumercia was built by Heesen Yachts in 2001. She is designed by Omega Architects. The yacht has some innovative features such as a garage capable of storing a Toyota Landrover. A 3.5-tonne crane launches the Toyota, which is stored in the Lazarette.
The yacht is powered by Caterpillar engines. Her max speed is 13 knots. She has a range of more than 3000 nm.
The yacht can accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 8.
The yacht’s owner was Marinus Boers. In 2009 Boers sold his yacht Alumercia to Turkish businessman Serkan Borancili.
Boers was planning an around the world trip with his private jet, a Pilatus PC-12.
Borancili is the founder of the Turkish internet marketplace GittiGidiyor, which he sold to Ebay. He now heads the investment company Getir.
