Paul Allen was one of the richest people in the world. He founded Microsoft together with Bill Gates in 1975. He had his own private asset management company named Vulcan Inc.

His investments included real estate, technology, media, and content companies. Allen also owns three sports teams: the Seattle Seahawks (NFL), the Portland Trail Blazers (NBA), and the Seattle Sounders FC franchise (MLS).


Net Worth

At the time of his death his net worth was estimated at US$ 20 billion. Paul Allen was the investor behind SpaceShipOne and Stratolaunch. In 2011 Allen was ranked the most generous living American by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, following donations of USD 372 million in that year alone.In total he has donated more than US$ 1.5 billion to research, education and environmental preservation.


Private Jet

Paul Allen owned and has owned several private jets, including a Boeing 757 with registration N757AF (which he sold to Donald Trump), a Gulfstream G550 with registration N535GA and a Bombardier BD-700 with registration N724AF. Paul owned several helicopters, some of which are permanently station aboard his yachts. Such as the N904AF, which is station aboard his yacht Octopus. October 15, 2018 – The following statements were released today by Vulcan Inc. on behalf of the Allen Family, Vulcan Inc. and the Paul G. Allen network.


It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our founder Paul G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft and noted technologist, philanthropist, community builder, conservationist, musician and supporter of the arts. Mr. Allen died on Monday afternoon, October 15, 2018, from complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in Seattle. Mr. Allen was 65 years old.
