Richard “Dick” Raper was born in February 1950. He was an executive at Mars Corporation. As CEO of Masterfoods, he headed the European activities of Mars.
Masterfoods Holding operates in three sectors: snack food, food, and pet food. Brands include Mars, Uncle Ben’s, and Royal Canin.
In 2001 he was named President and chief executive officer of Masterfoods Europe, the European division of Mars, after several years as president of Pedigree Masterfoods, Masterfoods’ pet food division, overseeing brands including Pedigree Chum and Whiskas.
In 2002 Masterfoods Europe under Raper acquired pet food maker Royal Canin from BNP Paribas.
His son Piers Raper owns the skincare company Skinade. Together they own a patent on a skin-enhancing beverage composition. The beverage composition is such that it promotes higher absorption and bioavailability of skin-nourishing ingredients. The beverage composition can improve the moisture content of the skin and can prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
