LVMH purchased TAG Heuer in 1999 for USD 740 million. TAG sponsored Williams in the early 1980s. And then supplied McLaren with TAG Turbo Engines with the help of Porsche in the mid 1980s.
The McLaren relationship continues to this day. With the TAG Group holding a stake in the McLaren Group.
The TAG Group includes Tag Aviation. It is a private jet and business jet charter company. Tag also owns a hotel, named Aviator. TAG Aeronautics holds the distributorship of Bombardier business jets. In the Middle East and Turkey. TAG is the acronym of Techniques d’Avant Garde.

He had a net worth of US$ 2 billion.
He died June 6, 21, aged 68. No cause of death was released, but it was known he had some lung issues. He had a double lung transplant in 2013.
