The magnificent Sorrento yacht, previously known as Lumiere III, was originally christened Bistango, constructed for an unknown Japanese millionaire. This luxury vessel was delivered in 2010 by the world-renowned Italian shipyard, Benetti. Notably, it was once owned by mining magnate Chris Cline before meeting an untimely end in a tragic helicopter accident. Today, it belongs to Miquel Rincon and sails under the name Sorrento.

Born in July 1958, Cline began his career as an underground coal miner before transitioning into management within the coal industry. He founded the Cline Group, sometimes referred to as “King Coal,” and also owned Gogebic Taconite. Cline and his wife Kelly had four children.
In July 2019, Cline tragically died in a helicopter crash along with six others, including his daughter. The helicopter was en route from the Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale when it plunged into the Atlantic Ocean.
The Cline Group served as the parent company for Cline’s mining activities, operating some of the most productive underground coal mines and positioning itself among the top 20 coal producers in the United States. This success led to the establishment of Foresight Energy in 2003.
Foresight Energy emerged as a leading producer of thermal coal, boasting extensive reserves in the Illinois Basin. Cline’s savvy business strategy capitalized on the federal regulations mandating scrubbers in power plants, leading to soaring demand for his inexpensive coal.
Following Cline’s demise, the Sorrento was purchased by Miguel Rincon, marking a new era for this luxurious vessel.
