Motor Yacht ODYSSEA
In the world of luxury yachting, the ODYSSEA yacht stands out as a remarkable feat of design and craftsmanship. Originally constructed by the renowned Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts, ODYSSEA was initially christened Lady Petra in honor of its founder, Frans Heesen’s wife, in 2012. The yacht’s distinctive design, attributed to Omega Architects, beautifully encapsulates the essence of Heesen’s commitment to quality, style, and luxury.
- The ODYSSEA yacht, originally named Lady Petra, is a masterpiece built by Heesen Yachts and designed by Omega Architects.
- It is the eighth yacht in the successful 47-meter full displacement series launched by Heesen.
- Powered by robust MTU engines, the yacht can reach a top speed of 16 knots and boasts a range of over 3000 nautical miles.
- The yacht can accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 10, offering an exceptional standard of comfort and luxury.
- The initial owner of the yacht was Heesen founder, Frans Heesen. The yacht has since been sold and renamed ODYSSEA.
- The estimated value of the yacht ODYSSEA is around $25 million, with annual running costs of approximately $2 million.
A Noteworthy Addition to Heesen’s 47-meter Full Displacement Series
The ODYSSEA yacht holds a special place in Heesen’s 47-meter full displacement series as the eighth entrant. This successful series was inaugurated with the launch of the Yalla yacht in 2004. Following Yalla, other noteworthy vessels in this series include Sirocco, Elandess II, Celestial Hope, Blind Date, 4You, and Secret. Each yacht in this series exemplifies Heesen’s unyielding commitment to superior quality, innovation, and luxury.
Power and Performance: The ODYSSEA Yacht Specifications
Beneath its luxurious exterior, the yacht ODYSSEA is powered by formidable MTU engines, allowing it to reach a top speed of 16 knots. With a considerable range of over 3000 nautical miles, the yacht ensures high-speed navigation without compromising on comfort and luxury.
Exquisite Interior Design for Exceptional Comfort
The interior of the ODYSSEA yacht caters to the comfort and relaxation of its guests. With the capacity to accommodate 12 guests, the yacht provides an ideal setting for lavish gatherings. Additionally, the yacht comfortably houses a crew of 10, ensuring that every need of the guests is met with impeccable service.
The Ownership Journey of the ODYSSEA Yacht
Originally, the yacht was owned by Heesen founder, Frans Heesen. However, the yacht was eventually sold and christened with its current name, ODYSSEA.
Frans Heesen’s Affiliation with Yachts
Interestingly, this Lady Petra was the second yacht built specifically for Frans Heesen. He previously owned a 44-meter yacht also named Lady Petra, which was delivered in 2009. Initially, Heesen planned to order a 37-meter yacht, but he ended up opting for the (partially completed) 44-meter one that became available before the construction of the 37-meter had started.
The Value and Running Costs of the Yacht ODYSSEA
The ODYSSEA yacht price is estimated to be around $25 million. However, the annual running costs amount to approximately $2 million. The price of a yacht like ODYSSEA varies greatly depending on factors like size, age, level of luxury, as well as the materials and technology employed in its construction.

What started as a ‘yacht spotter’ hobby, turned into a fast-growing yachting site with thousands of unique daily visitors.
In 2009 SuperYachtFan in its current format was published online and soon the focus changed from ‘yacht photos’ to ‘yacht owners’, creating the Super Yacht Owners Register. A database with more than 1,450 yacht owners.
This was an instant success as many people around the world are interested in, or curious about, these multi-million dollar yachts and their wealthy owners. (Luxury travels of the Billionaire Boys Club)

The details about yacht ownership as stated on this site and in our Yacht Owners Register are sometimes based on rumors. Often actual yacht ownership by the private individuals mentioned can not be confirmed, at least from a legal point of view.
