The yacht Broadwater was built as Rasselas bij Feadship’s De Vries in 1994. Her commissioning owner was Kenneth Rainin, founder of Rainin Instrument Company, which sold a mainstream brand of laboratory pipettes. He died in 2007 at the age of 68.
The yacht is powered by Caterpillar Engines. Her max speed is 16 knots. Her range is more than 4,500nm. In 2019 her length was increased from 52-meters to 56-meters.
The yacht can accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 13. Her original (1994) interior was designed by John Munford. Her interior was redone at a 2019 refit at HuisFit in the Netherlands.
The yacht’s owner is Matthew Voorhees. He named the yacht after his house. (And his house after the street he is living on).
