Established in 1970, Cliffstar has become one of the leading suppliers of private label beverages and the largest private label producer in the United States, offering juices such as apple juice, grape juice, cranberry juice, and various juice-blends. The company owns eleven production and bottling facilities across the United States. In 2010, Cliffstar achieved USD 650 million in sales with 1,200 employees.
Sold to Cott Corporation
That same year, Cliffstar was sold to Cott Corporation for over $500 million. At the time of the sale, Stanley Albert Star owned 85% of the shares. Cott Corporation is one of the world’s largest non-alcoholic beverage companies and the world’s largest retailer brand soft drink company.
Philanthropy
Stanley and his wife Elisabeth Star are dedicated philanthropists through their The Star Family Foundation. They funded the Stanley A. Star Professorship of Law and Business at Duke Law School and generously donated US$ 5 million to the same institution.
