Our Super Yacht Owners Database: more than 1,100 Yachts and Yacht Owners.

We were told by several sources that Iris Fontbona is the owner of the yacht Halo. But following the publication of this page, we also received messages claiming that she is not the owner. We found that the yacht is actually owned by María Asunción Aramburuzabala. She is  a Mexican billionaire (which also explains the Mexican interior designer of the yacht).

Who is María Asunción Aramburuzabala?María Asunción Aramburuzabala

She is a Mexican billionaire, who sold the family beer brewing company. She was born in May 1963. She was married twice (but divorced) and has 2 children. She sold her family’s beer brewing company Grupo Modelo to Anheuser Busch. She now serves on the board of Anheuser Busch.

Grupo Modelo

Maria is the granddaughter of Félix Aramburuzabala Lazcano-Iturburu, a Spanish Basque immigrant who co-founded the Mexican brewery Grupo Modelo in 1925.  Grupo Modelo is a large Mexican beer brewery  company. It is know for the Corona brand.

Felix's son, Pablo Aramburuzabala, vice president of the brewery, died unexpectedly in 1995 at the age of 63. His wife and two daughters inherited the company and founded Tresalia Capital ("tres aliadas" or three allies) in order to diversify the family investments.

In 2013 Grupo Modelo merged with Anheuser Busch, valuating Modelo at US$ 20 billion.

Grupo Modelo is distributed in the USA by Constellation Brands. Constellation Brands is owned by Robert Scott Sands. He is owner of the Benetti yacht Spectre.

Tresalia Holding

Through Through Tresalia, the family invests in other Mexican companies. Investments include construction and  telecommunications. Abilia is a real estate development company, active in Mexico. Tresalia owns a minority share in US fashion label Tory Bursch. The company also owns  20 % stake in Grupo Televisa.

She is an active philanthropist trough the Fundacion Grupo Modelo. The foundation focuses on three pillars: responsible alcohol consumption, environmental care and community service.

She lives in a large house in Mexico City.

Private Jet

We do think that she (or at least one of her companies) owns a private jet. We think it is the Gulfstream G550 with registration XA-BUA. It is registered to Aerotresalia. Update she now owns a Bombardier Challenger 350 with the same registration XA-BUA.

M/Y Halo

Halo was built at Feadship in 2015. The yacht is designed by Harrison Eidsgaard. She is powered by 2 MTU engines which bring her a top speed of 16 knots.

Her cruise speed is 12 knots. She has a range of more than 4,000nm. Her displacement is 1,001 tons.

The luxury yacht can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins. The yacht has a crew of 14.  The yacht’s interior is designed by Bernardi + Peschard.

Yacht Charter

The boat is available for yacht charter and is not listed for sale. He weekly charter rate is more than US$ 400,000 per week.

Amels Yacht Halo

We are not sure if Maria als owns the Amels yacht Halo. She was built in 2018 as EJI for Australian billionaire James Packer. He listed her for sale immediately after delivery.

Later it became clear that he also ordered a 109 meter yacht at Benetti. She is named IJE.
