Dick Raper is the owner of the sailing yacht Atalante.
Richard "Dick" Raper is an executive at Mars Corporation. As CEO of Masterfoods, he heads the European activities of Mars. Masterfoods Holding operates in three sectors: snackfood, food and petfood. Brands include Mars, Uncle Ben’s, Royal Canin.
In 2001 he was named president and chief executive officer of Masterfoods Europe, the European division of Mars, after several years as president of Pedigree Masterfoods, Masterfoods' pet food division, overseeing brands including Pedigree Chum and Whiskas. In 2002 Masterfoods Europe under Raper acquired pet food maker Royal Canin from BNP Paribas
Raper retired and now lives in the Bahamas. In 2017 he was a Judge in the World SuperYachts Awards.
His son Piers Raper owns the skin care company Skinade. Together they own a patent on a skin enhancing beverage composition. The beverage composition is such that it promotes higher absorption and bio availability of skin-
The yacht Atalante was built at Claasen Yachts and delivered in 2015. She is a Truly Classic 127, designed by Hoek Designs. At 38.8 meters, her size is unprecedented among Claasen classic yacht which also makes her unprecedentedly fast.
Atalante joined the 2016 Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous which will was held at the YACHT CLUB COSTA SMERALDA in PORTO CERVO, SARDINIA.
Atalante is available for charter. Raper previously owned a smaller sailing yacht, also named Atalante, built by Claasen in 2009.
