We were told that Majid al Futtaim is the owner of the yacht Quattroelle, but this information is incorrect. Al Futtaim is an UAE based billionaire and brother of Abdulla al Futtaim (owner of the yacht Radiant).
Majid al Futtaim is founder of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, active in retail and real estate. Al Futtaim owns the franchise to operate Carrefour hypermarkets and supermarkets in the Middle East, North Africa and the Russian Commonwealth of Independent States.
In total Al Futtaim owns around 140 Carrefour stores.
The group also develops malls, the most famous is the Mall of the Emirates, which has more than 500 shops, 7000 parking spaces and includes Ski Dubai, the Middle East’s first indoor ski resort and snow park.
Further Al Futtaim owns 11 hotels, including the Kempinski Hotel Mall of The Emirates, which has 393 rooms. Majid Al Futtaim Ventures develops businesses that complement Al Futtaim Holding’s hotel and mall operations.
This includes the leisure and entertainment facilities at the shopping malls, including Ski Dubai, VOX Cinemas, Magic Planet and iFly.
It is also parent to Majid Al Futtaim Finance, a consumer finance company issuing ‘Najm’ credit cards that offer consumers special rates and benefits at the malls and facilities, and Majid Al Futtaim Fashion, which brings some of the world’s most famous brands to the Middle East region including Abercrombie & Fitch and Mexx.
The net worth of Majid al Futtaim is estimated at US$ 6.3 billion. He is considered to be the richest (non Royal) person in the United Arab Emirates. In 2015 his group realized revenues of US 7.5 billion and a net profit of US$ 900 million.
Majid al Futtaim owned a US$ 50 million Dassault Falcon 7X Private Jet with registration A6-
