Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and his Yacht Quattroelle

Yacht Length: 86 m (283 ft) - Guests: 12 in 6 cabins - Crew: 28 in 14 cabins - Displacement: 2,925t - Lurssen Yachts - 2013 - Yacht Value: US$ 250 million -

Crown Prince Hamdan of Dubai Net Worth: US$ 5 billion - Owners Country: Dubai - Quattroelle was built for Michael Lee Chin, he is rumored to be building a larger 139 meter yacht. We think its Project Redwood, under construction at Lurssen.

Yacht Quattroelle

The luxury yacht Quattroelle was built by Lurssen and delivered to her owner in 2013. She is designed by the Italian based Nuvolari-Lenard and can accommodate 16 guests in 8 staterooms. The yacht has a crew of 29.

The yacht is powered by 2 Caterpillar engines. Which bring her a top speed of 17 knots. Her cruise speed is 15 knots. We estimate her range at at least 5,000nm.

Yacht Interior

Quattroelle has a gymnasium designed by Usain Bolt, a spa with hairdressing salon, a massage room and several pools.

The name Quattroelle stands for “four L’s or Love, Life, Liberty, and Luxury”.

Quattroelle Shadow.

The yacht has a support vessel named Quattroelle Shadow. The 56 meter vessel carries all toys and extra crew and staff.

She was built as an offshore supply vessel at Halter Marine in 1981.

Built for Michael Lee Chin, who is building larger

Quattroelle was built for Michael Lee-Chin. We were told he sold the yacht in 2014 to UAE billionaire Majid al Futtaim, but in the meantime it became clear she was sold to Crown Prince Hamdan (FAZ3) of Dubai

Apparently Michael Lee Chin ordered a larger (139 meter / 456 ft) yacht, which will be delivered in 2019. Built to a Moran Yachts specification, the yacht will feature accommodations for 36 guest in 20 staterooms.

We think it’s project Redwood, under construction at Lurssen. All photos on this page are used with permission. See Ship-Dreams for more photo’s.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum is the owner of the yacht Quattroelle. Sheikh Hamdan is the Crown Prince of Dubai.

The Sheikh is the son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai. He is a descendant of the House of Al-Falasi, of which Sheikh Mohammed is the tribal leader.

He reportedly lives in a large complex of several palaces, where all his family members live. The area is called Za’abeel, and houses the Zabeel Palace, which was the official residence of Sheikh Rashid, the grandfather of Sheikh Hamdan.

Hamdan reportedly also owns a palace in Abu Dhabi and a desert palace in Dubai.

Social Media

Hamdan is very active on social media, such as Facebook and Instagram. He uses the name Fazza or Faz3. He is an active horse rider, diver and a semi-professional skydiver. He frequently publishes photos of himself, for example when skydiving towards the yacht Dubai.

Majid al Futtaim

We were told that Majid al Futtaim is the owner of the yacht Quattroelle, but this information is incorrect. Al Futtaim is an UAE based billionaire and brother of Abdulla al Futtaim (owner of the yacht Radiant).

Majid al Futtaim Holding

Majid al Futtaim is founder of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, active in retail and real estate. Al Futtaim owns the franchise to operate Carrefour hypermarkets and supermarkets in the Middle East, North Africa and the Russian Commonwealth of Independent States.

In total Al Futtaim owns around 140 Carrefour stores.

Mall of the Emirates

The group also develops malls, the most famous is the Mall of the Emirates, which has more than 500 shops, 7000 parking spaces and includes Ski Dubai, the Middle East’s first indoor ski resort and snow park.

Kempinski Hotels

Further Al Futtaim owns 11 hotels, including the Kempinski Hotel Mall of The Emirates, which has 393 rooms. Majid Al Futtaim Ventures develops businesses that complement Al Futtaim Holding’s hotel and mall operations.

This includes the leisure and entertainment facilities at the shopping malls, including Ski Dubai, VOX Cinemas, Magic Planet and iFly.

It is also parent to Majid Al Futtaim Finance, a consumer finance company issuing ‘Najm’ credit cards that offer consumers special rates and benefits at the malls and facilities, and Majid Al Futtaim Fashion, which brings some of the world’s most famous brands to the Middle East region including Abercrombie & Fitch and Mexx.

Majid al Futtaim net worth

The net worth of Majid al Futtaim is estimated at US$ 6.3 billion. He is considered to be the richest (non Royal) person in the United Arab Emirates. In 2015 his group realized revenues of US 7.5 billion and a net profit of US$ 900 million.

US$ 70 Million G650 Private Jet

Majid al Futtaim owned a US$ 50 million Dassault Falcon 7X Private Jet with registration A6-MAF. But in 2016 his new US$ 70 million Gulfstream G650 jet was delivered, now using the A6-MAF sign.

November 2016 Update

In November 2016 SuperYachtFan was contacted by a Director of the MAJID AL FUTTAIM PRESIDENT'S OFFICE, stating: “This is to inform you that Majid Al Futtaim is not the owner of Quattroelle, nor has he ever offered to buy it.”.  We know now that the Crown Prince owns Quattroelle

Michael Lee-Chin

Michael Lee-Chin was the original owner of the yacht Quattrolle, but he sold his yacht to the Crown Prince of Dubai a.k.a. FAZ3. Michael Lee-Chin is the founder of Portland Holdings, an investment company active in several sectors, including media, tourism, health care and financial services.

Born in Jamaica

Lee-Chin was born in Jamaica and immigrated to Canada to study engineering. He became financial advisor and at the age of 32 borrowed money and started investing. His first investment of $500.000 became US$3.5 million in a few years.

AIC Limited

With the profit Lee-Chin acquired the investment firm AIC Limited. This investment firm grew to assets of more than $15 billion.

Lee-Chin’s current investments include The National Commercial Bank of Jamaica (NCB, Jamaica’s largest bank with 2,400 employees), The Wallenford Coffee Company (Jamaica’s largest coffee exporter), the CVC Communications Group (tv and radio stations) and several exclusive hotels and restaurants.

Michael Lee-Chin Net Worth

Michael Lee-Chin has an estimated net worth of $ 1 billion, making him one of the richest Jamaican born people. His previous yacht was Capri, which he sold to John Caudwell.
