Nina Storms Brink, born Nina Bernadina Vleeschdraager on July 21, 1953 in Amsterdam, is a notable Dutch entrepreneur, previously known as Nina Brink. She gained prominence as the chairperson of the board of internet provider World Online during its IPO in 2000, which was followed by a sharp decline in stock value. Born in Amsterdam, Storms’ Jewish parents, who were survivors of WWII, decided to emigrate to French-speaking Canada (Quebec) for safety. After the sudden death of her father, Storms returned to the Netherlands at 18 and began studying psychology, later transitioning into business.

In her early career, Storms joined her first husband’s company, MCA Tronix, a distributor of electronic parts and components, which later became AKAM International, where she served as Marketing Director. With her second husband, she founded A-Line Technologies, a distributor of computer parts. Storms made her mark with the founding of World Online in 1995, aiming to make it Europe’s largest internet provider. Despite a successful IPO in March 2000, World Online’s shares plummeted due to the selling of shares by major stakeholders and discrepancies in the company’s prospectus.

Post-World Online, Storms founded an investment company, Renessence Ventures, and invested in various other companies. In 2007, she married Pieter Storms, and in 2020, it was revealed that Storms was suspected of money laundering by the judiciary in Monaco. In 2019, Natur, a cold-pressed juice company she founded, filed for bankruptcy. Storms continues to be an influential figure in the Dutch business world.
