Donald Trump is a candidate to the 2016 US Presidential Elections and is owner of the Trump Organization. The Trump Organization was founded by Donald’s father Fred Trump who named the company Elizabeth Trump & Son Co. Fred Trump was a real estate developer, building  affordable rental housing complexes in New York City. The net worth of Fred Trump was estimated at USD 300 million.

He started with US$ 200,000

When Donald Trump graduated from college, he was worth about US$200,000 ( similar to US$1.4 million in current value). He started working in his father’s company and was given control in 1971. Trump was very succesfull in building large NY real estate projects, using attractive architectural design to win public recognition.

Trump Tower

He put his name on his investments Trump: The Trump Tower, Trump Parc, Trump Plaza and Trump Castle. He started Trump Television City and acquired an airline with 17 jets named Trump Airlines. In 1988 he acquired the yacht Nabila, which he named Trump Princess. After he bought the Trump Taj Mahal in 1990, he ran into financial problems and had to sell his yacht.

US$ 8 billion net worth

Nowadays the net worth of Donald Trump is estimated at USD 4.5 billion (although the Trump Organisation released a figure of around USD 8 billion). He owns a Boeing 757 private jet with registration N757AF  and a Cessna Citation with registration N725DT. In 2015 Trump announced that he would run as a candidate for the 2016 USA Presidential elections.

Trump Princess

The Trump Princess (now named Kingdom 5 KR is a 86 meter (282 ft) motor yacht built at Benetti. The yacht is built of steel with an aluminum superstructure. She can reach a top speed of 20 knots and has a range of 8,500 nm at 17 knots. The production of the hull started in 1977. The famous Luigi Sturchio was responsible for her original interior.

Built as Nabila for Adnan Kashoggi

The Trump Princess was built in 1980 for Saudi Arabian arms dealer Adnan Kashoggi, who named her after his daughter Nabila Kashoggi. At that time, Nabila was the largest yacht in the world.

James Bond movie

During its days as Nabila, the yacht was featured in the James Bond movie Never Say Never Again. In the Bond movie she was named Flying Saucer (translated from the Italian Disco Volante in the original novel Thunderball) and acted as the villain's mobile head quarters.

Briefly owned by the Sultan of Brunei

After Khashoggi ran into financial problems, he sold the yacht in 1988 to the Sultan of Brunei, who in turn sold it to US Presidential candidate Donald Trump for USD 29 million. Trump renamed the yacht the Trump Princess.

A disco and a private hospital

The yacht can accommodate 22 guests and 40 crew and features a pool on the sun deck, a sauna, a cinema, an elevator, a disco and even a private hospital. When Trump ran into financial problems, he sold it to the Saudi billionaire Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal in 1991

Trump private jet

Donald Trump’s largest private jet is a Boeing 757-200 with registration number N757AF. The plane was built in 1991 and was bought by Trump in 2010. In a commercial configuration the jet can accommodate 228 passengers, but Trump’s jet is designed to carry 43, featuring a dining room and two bedrooms. Almost all metal objects on board are gold plated, including the seat belts and taps and sinks. The plane has top speed of 609 miles an hour can fly up to 4,400 miles without stopping. Trump also owns a Cessna Citation with registration number N725DT, the 725 refers to the address of his Trump Tower and the DT is obvious.. Trump previously owned a 1968 Boeing 727 with registration VP-BDJ, which was sold in 2010.

Donald Trump’s House

Donald Trump owns several houses and private residences. He normally resides at his three-story penthouse on top of his Trump Tower at 725 Fifth Avenue in New York. The value of the penthouse is estimated at USD 100 million. Trump also owns a mansion named Seven Springs in Bedford, New York. The mansion has 60 rooms, three swimming pools and a bowling alley and is used as a private retreat for the Trump family. Further Trump owns the former Kluge Estate in Charlottesville, Virginia. The estate, which includes a wine yard, was previously owned by John Kluge, once America’s richest person.  

US$ 250 million Palm Beach Mansion

Trump also owns a Palm Beach mansion named Mar-A-Lago, which was built for Marjorie Merriweather Post in 1924. The value is estimated at USD 250 million. Trump turned the residence into a hotel.
