Who is Flavio Briatore?
He was born in April 1950. He started his career as a restaurant manager and insurance salesman in Italy. He became a successful Benetton franchiser. He was the manager of the Benetton F1 team. He was married to Elisabetta. He has two children (Helene Boshoven Samuel and Falco Nathan Briatore). Briatore owns the famous Billionaire Night Club on the Costa Smeralda.
Convicted in Italy on several fraud charges in the 1980s, he set up (and co-owned) a successful Benetton franchise in the Virgin Islands and the United States.
Benetton is a global fashion brand, with annual sales of more than USD 2 billion. In 1989 Benetton had more than 800 stores in the US.
Briatore earned commissions from all those stores, which made him very rich.

After he sold his stake, he was promoted by Luciano Benetton to the manager of the Benetton Formula One racing team. He signed Michael Schumacher as F1 driver at the team.
The F1 team was named Renault F1 in 2002. In 2009 he was forced to resign from the Renault F1 team due to his involvement in race-fixing.
In 2019 he backed Ferrari’s management changes. Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene was removed from his role and was replaced by former chief technical officer Mattia Binotto.
From 2007 to 2010, he was part-owner (with Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal) and chairman of London’s Queens Park Rangers F.C..
He is the manager of F1 race driver Fernando Alonso.
