The yacht Eclipse is known as ‘the USD 1.5 billion yacht’. Although her real cost price was considerably less. Her original contract price was around EUR 550 million, or USD 700 million. Eclipse was delivered by Blohm and Voss in 2010.
Eclipse was the largest superyacht in the world. But this title is now reserved for superyacht Azzam. Eclipse is designed by Terence Disdale. He is also responsible for Eclipse’s interior design.

She has a crew of 70, residing in 35 cabins. There are 2 dedicated staff cabins on the owner’s deck. The crew has its own dedicated cinema in the bow of the yacht.
She was built in total secrecy. Early 2013 Eclipse arrived in New York and docked in Manhattan. In June 2014 Eclipse was laying for anchor near Antibes France for a few days.
Early 2015 Eclipse was seen in a drydock at the Blohm+Voss yard in Hamburg for a refit. In June 2015 she visited Bergen in Norway. And in November 2015 she was back at Blohm & Voss for some maintenance.
