Superyacht Al Mirqab is one of the largest yachts in the world. The yacht was built by the German shipyard Peters Schiffbau in 2008. She is designed by Tim Heywood, while Andrew Winch is responsible for her luxurious interior.
She is powered by 4 Wärtsila diesel-electric engines. Which bring her a top speed of 18 knots. Her cruising speed is 14 knots. Her range is more than 5,000nm.
Al Mirqab has a large swimming pool on the lower deck, which can be opened up to the sea by opening side hatches in the hull. In 2014 Al Mirqab underwent a refit, a new sundeck was installed and her interior was redone.
The yacht’s owner is Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al Thani. His ownership of the yacht was confirmed in the Panama Papers.
In January 2021 she visited Miami, Florida. She is the largest yacht ever to enter the Port of Miami.
