Lampert is the founder and sole owner of ESL Investments. ESL serves as manager to investment funds that invest in equity and debt instruments, securities, options and other financial instruments and products. ESL manages assets in one master fund, ESL Partners, L.P. As of December 31, 2015, ESL Partners held approximately US$2.8 billion in assets.
Known investments of Lampert are Sears Holding, Autonation (the largest U.S. retailer of new cars, trucks & SUV), Land’s End (the fashion brand founded by the late Gary Comer, former owner of the yacht Turmoil), Autozone (a leading auto parts retailer) and Footstar Inc (a now bankrupt shoe retailer).
Lampert lives in a large house in Greenwich, Connecticut (close to New York City), but he also owns a US$ 40 million mansion on the Indian Creek Golf Club Island in Miami, Florida. The house is considered to be the 34th most expensive home in Florida.
The yacht Fountainhead is a 88 meter (288ft) motor yacht built by Feadship in The Netherlands. She is a sistership to Larry Ellison’s yacht Musashi. Fountainhead is designed Sinot Yacht Design and can accommodate 14 guests and 20 crew. We estimate her value at approx. US$ 130 million. The yacht is often linked to billionaire Marc Cuban, but this info is false. As far as we know Marc Cuban does not own a yacht, but if you have any information about a yacht owned by Marc Cuban please do send us a message. The yacht Fountainhead is not available for charter. Some of the photos hereunder by Dutch Yachting.
The net worth of Edward Lampert is estimated at US$ 2 billion. We think he also owns a Gulfstream private jet, but we have not found the registration number (yet ;-
