The yacht Indian Empress was delivered in 2000 as Al Mirqab for the prime minister of Qatar.
She is the largest yacht (95m or 311ft) to be built by Oceanco and the 2nd largest yacht to be built in the Netherlands. Vijay Mallya aqcuired the yacht in 2006 and renamed her Indian Empress. She can reach a speed of 26 knots, powered by her three MTU diesels of 10,000hp each.
She has a total of 16 staterooms for her owners and his guests. The yacht is rumored to hold two Mercedes cars on board and several original painting from Renoir and Chagall. She boasts an entire deck dedicated to the master suite that includes a gym, sauna and steam room.
She is often seen at Formula One events, as Mallya is the owner of the F1 team Sahara Force India. There are rumors that Mallya sold the yacht in 2011 but that he still uses her.
