The yacht Mylin IV was built by Royal van Lent for the late Ted Arison, founder of Carnival Cruise Lines. Luxury yacht Mylin is still owned by his son Micky Arison, Chairman and CEO at Carnival Corporation. The yacht was named after Teds wife Lin and was his fourth and last yacht.

Arison was raised in the cruise business and learned the business early from his father Ted Arison, who founded Carnival Cruise Lines in 1972. Micky Arison dropped out of the University of Miami to work at Carnival Cruise Lines. He started in their sales department, served as reservations manager in 1974, became vice president of passenger traffic in 1976, and moved up to president in 1979. He was appointed chairman of the board of directors in 1990, succeeding his father. Arison has overseen a number of major acquisitions by the company that went public in 1987.

In 1989, he was responsible for the purchase of the Holland America Line. He also led the purchase of Seabourn Cruise Line and the Cunard Cruise Line, operator of the cruise ship Queen Mary 2. He oversaw the acquisition of P&O Princess Cruises in 2002 in a deal valued at about USD 8.2 million, making the company the largest cruise operator with 82 ships. In 2015 Carnival Corporation operated more than 100 ships under 10 brand names. Carnival realized a turnover of USD 15,7 billion and a net income of USD 1,8 billion. It carried 10,8 million passengers with 90.000 employees.
