A Lurssen built Mega Yacht

The yacht Golden Odyssey was built as project Tatiana at Lurssen Yachts. She was delivered to her owner Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdul Azziz in 2015. The yacht has a length of 124 meter (404ft)  and a draught of 4.9 meter. Her gross tonnage is 7,600. Not much is known about her interior other than that it is designed by Martin Francis.

A Replacement of the ‘smaller’ 80 meter Golden Odyssey

Martin Francis is also responsible for the design of Golden Shadow, also owned by Prince Khaled. Golden Odyssey is a replacement for the owners’ previous and same named 80 meter yacht, now renamed Golden Odyssey II. Golden Odyssey II was built at Blohm&Voss and is now put for sale at Burgess. Hereunder you will find some interior photos of the yacht Golden Odyssey. Photos of the new Golden Odysses by The yacht Golden Odyssey is not available for charter, but enquire for your ultimate charter experience on other yachts.

Son the late Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia

Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud is the eldest son of the late Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Azziz.  Until a few years ago he was the Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation of Saudi Arabia. Prince Khaled was Commander of the Joint Forces in the first Persian Gulf War. In 1991, he retired from the military to focus on business.

The Living Oceans Foundation

In September 2000, Khalid founded The Living Oceans Foundation. The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation is a non-profit environmental science organization and ocean research foundation based in the United States. The foundation is dedicated to ocean conservation and restoration through applied environmental science, education and outreach, and working with local partners and governments to promote coral reef conservation.

The Prince owns a Fleet of 4 Luxury Yachts

The foundation is supported by Khaled’s Golden Fleet of superyachts. Golden Odyssey II was the flagship of the Golden Fleet (was… as she will be replaced by the new Golden Odysses) and is sailing seas all over the world with her support yacht Golden Shadow (66.75m) and the sport fishermen Golden Osprey (27.45m). Golden Shadow is a 67-meter (220 ft) logistical support vessel that carries a Cessna Caravan Amphibious aircraft.

His father owned the yacht Al Salamah

Khaled’s father Prince Sultan was the owner of the yacht Al Salamah, one of the largest yachts in the world by volume. After Prince Sultan’s death, the yacht was put for sale for US$ 280 million. Later the Al Salamah was de-listed and was gifted to Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince of Bahrain.
